CORPORATE POLICY
Review Date: 15/09/2025
Introduction
“We are FRIME, a family-owned company with a long tradition and a leader in the marketing of sustainable tuna.”
As a company with a well-established reputation in our sector, with more than 45 years of experience, and with the aim of maintaining and ensuring the commitment and involvement of our staff with the different company policies, this Corporate Policy has been created. It will be communicated to all employees and developed for each of our departments.
History
FRIME is a business group dedicated to the marketing of seafood products, with a strong international presence.
We are a company with more than 45 years of experience, dating back to 1977, when Salvador Ramon began writing his story at the Mercabarna Central Fish Market (Barcelona). With Salva Ramon, the second generation of the family, at the helm of the company, our roots in the market remain present in FRIME’s DNA: humility, nonconformity, honesty, perseverance and responsibility are reflected in our daily professional practice.
We aim to change the world by improving nutrition in households everywhere through innovation in responsibly sourced fishing products, standardised through industrialisation.
We offer a constant and stable supply of raw materials over time, which has enabled us to become one of the largest exporters of tuna in Europe and market leaders in yellowfin tuna loins and portions.
We are committed to planetary sustainability, to good corporate ethics practices, and to the well-being of our employees, partners and consumers. To this end, our commitment is closely aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) established by the United Nations Global Compact, applying ESG policies to offer the market a sustainable, responsible product that is respectful of society and the environment.
Present
Currently, our business group directly employs more than 400 people. It operates 7 production plants located in Barcelona, La Roca del Vallès, Arenys de Munt and L’Aldea (Tarragona), as well as 6 stalls at the Central Fish Market of Barcelona.
Our products are distributed worldwide, currently reaching more than 52 countries.
Corporate Policy
Conditioned by the current economic environment and with the desire to remain competitive in the market while remaining alert to potential growth opportunities, Management is aware that we cannot abandon the ongoing effort to continuously improve the quality of our products and services. Our main support today is the trust of our customers, built on the commitment we have maintained since our beginnings to meet all their needs with excellence.
For this reason, we consider it essential to formally communicate our Corporate Policy to all employees, in order to ensure their conscious and direct participation, always taking into account their responsibilities and our principles as a company:
Vision: To change the world by improving the nutrition of all households through responsibly sourced fishing products.
Mission: To innovate in sustainable fishing products, standardising them through industrialisation.
Values: Humble, nonconformist, honest, perseverant, responsible and family-oriented.
Commitments: Ethics, sustainability, and the well-being of our employees, partners and consumers.
Foundations
This Policy is based on four pillars: our customers, the quality of our products and services, environmental responsibility and sustainability, and ethical and labour responsibility.
Customer Respect Policy
Customer satisfaction is what provides us with our reputation in the sector, and this reputation is built on the quality of our products and services.
For this reason, we must listen to and adapt to our customers’ needs at all times.
Quality, Authenticity, Safety and Legality Policy for Our Products and Services
As a fundamental pillar of our Corporate Policy, Management is committed to continuing to fulfil the obligation to produce safe, legal and authentic products, in accordance with specified quality standards and with responsibility towards our customers.
We are committed to continuously improving the quality and food safety culture across our companies.
Environmental Responsibility and Sustainability Policy
At FRIME, we have an absolute commitment to sustainability and, in particular, to the preservation of the marine ecosystem. For this reason, for almost 10 years we have certified our plants under the MSC Chain of Custody standard, progressively increasing the volume of MSC-certified fish marketed. Our aim is to continue along this path in order to help conserve tuna stocks in our seas and oceans.
We have implemented selective segregation of generated waste and its circular revalorisation. Currently, all organic matter generated in our production processes is used for the production of pet food, and we are working to achieve the same circularity for the rest of the waste generated, always keeping in mind a policy of minimising both waste generation and the use of natural resources such as water and fossil fuels.
However, our commitment goes beyond improving sustainability; it also involves generating social value by promoting an inclusive labour policy within our company. We ensure that no form of discrimination occurs on the grounds of gender, race, nationality, age or religious belief, promote the integration of people with disabilities, and collaborate with various foundations whose main objective is labour market integration.
Criminal Compliance, Ethical and Labour Responsibility Policy
At FRIME Management, we are committed to operating with ethics and integrity. This means that all members and collaborators of the organisation work together to create an optimal working environment in which honesty, integrity and transparency prevail, along with respect for human rights, the legitimate interests of all individuals and organisations with whom we interact, and compliance with standards of quality, safety and dignity at work.
We have an Ethical Code that has been communicated to all employees and is available to all our customers, collaborators and partners on our website.
Likewise, FRIME’s Criminal Compliance Policy has also been communicated to all employees and is available to all stakeholders.
We have always committed to scrupulously complying with current labour legislation and occupational risk prevention regulations, striving to go beyond minimum legal requirements and pursuing excellence.
Management Commitments
Management is committed to communicating this policy to all staff and breaking it down into objectives for the different departments involved, which will be responsible for its development and for achieving the established objectives.
Employee Commitment
All employees of the company must be aware of the objectives arising from this Policy and are expected to be committed to the actions derived from it.
External Communication Responsibility
Aware that this Policy must be communicated and implemented across the different departments of our company, Management considers itself responsible for external communication in the event of crisis management or communications with authorities or the media.
Review
This Policy will be reviewed at least annually.
